Switching from Avenza Maps? Bring your GeoPDFs with you
Mulga Maps was built as a replacement for Avenza Maps. Here is how to move your maps and carry on collecting field data.
- Install Mulga Maps on your Android phone. It is in testing at the moment, and download links will appear here at launch.
- Import your maps. Add them from a file, cloud storage, a web server or a QR code, or share a map to Mulga Maps from another app. Georeferenced PDF, GeoTIFF, JPG with world files, MBTiles and PMTiles import on the free plan with no map limit; shapefiles are Pro.
- Check your position against the map. Open a map and compare the live GPS position with something you can see on the ground before you rely on it.
- Collect and export. Record points, tracks and shapes with custom fields, notes and photos, then export to GPX, KML, KMZ, GeoJSON, GeoPackage or shapefile.
Whatever app you use, keep your own copies of your map files and exported data outside the app.
Next: supported import formats, the GeoPDF viewer, and the Avenza Maps alternative overview.
Mulga Maps is an independent app and is not affiliated with Avenza.
